A dangerous merge may be in the works, leading to a result of CNN’s programming reaching the levels of MSNBC’s “reporting.” Comcast, the company that owns MSNBC, is a serious dark-horse candidate to acquire Warner Bros, which would entail Comcast’s control of CNN. Comcast is run by its CEO Brian Roberts, whom President Trump has a lengthy history of despising, referring to the company as “Concast.” Additionally, MSNBC will soon be transferred from Comcast to a company called Versant. However, there will not be a major difference in terms of Versant’s leadership compared to that of Comcast, as Brian Roberts will have one-third of the voting interest at Versant, which is the same as at Comcast. All this means that if Comcast acquires Warner Bros., CNN would likely be placed under the control of Versant, resulting in CNN becoming a stronger source of fake news.
Given President Trump’s nickname of “MSDNC” for the Comcast entity MSNBC, it should come as little surprise that Comcast, under Roberts’ leadership, refused to comply with President Trump’s federal guidelines to end DEI. A February 11, 2025, letter from FCC Chairman Brendan to Brian Roberts makes absolutely clear that Comcast is clearly violating President Trump’s FCC guidelines when it comes to DEI. One paragraph of the letter reads: “Nonetheless, I am concerned that Comcast and NBCUniversal may be promoting invidious forms of DEI in a manner that does not comply with FCC regulations. For instance, Comcast states on its website that promoting DEI is ‘a core value of our business’ and public reports state that Comcast has an entire ‘DEI infrastructure’ that includes annual ‘DEI day[s],’ ‘DEI training for company leaders,’ and similar initiatives. NBCUniversal has similar DEI initiatives, including executives specifically dedicated to promoting DEI across the TV and programming side of the business.”
Posts from Comcast’s X reinforce Carr’s claim, as Comcast’s X account shows the company has been committed to DEI despite President Trump’s executive orders to end the discriminatory practice. Comcast wrote in February 2025: “Our commitment to diversity, equity, & inclusion is across all areas, not limited to one community or group. This month, we strive to recognize the Black community, their unique contributions, and celebrate their culture.”
Comcast is also financially discriminating against straight white males. The company posted in January 2025: “Our RISE program eligibility includes all small business owners, while maintaining a focus on diversity, inclusion, and community investment.”
Given Comcast’s support for DEI under Roberts’ leadership, it should come as little surprise that Roberts himself is a committed supporter of former Pennsylvania United States Senator Bob Casey, who notably lost his 2024 election due to his support of open borders, defunding the police, defunding ICE, men in women’s sports, and his hatred of President Trump. FEC records show that Roberts has been donating to Senator Casey since 2011. Overall, Roberts is a stronger supporter of Senate Democrats, as Roberts has also been donating to the DSCC since 2004 and to Chuck Schumer since 2010. Supporting Schumer and former Senator Casey aren’t Roberts’ only noticeable donations to elected Democrats. FEC records also show that Roberts has been donating to Joe Biden since 2002, the DNC since 2004, and Hillary Clinton since 2004.
With Brian Roberts’ history of supporting elected Democrats and their policies, it is obvious that Brian Roberts is attempting to become favorable with President Trump by donating millions on behalf of Comcast to the East Room of the White House with hopes of receiving approval for a potential merger with Warner Bros. However, Roberts’ donation should be taken with a grain of salt. One of MSNBC’s highest-rated shows recently trashed the White House East Wing development project, with Rachel Maddow saying on October 27, 2025: “For every Avelo Airlines … for every corporation like our parent company, for another hot minute, Comcast, that wants to pay for Trump to take a literal wrecking ball — excuse me, an excavator — to the White House.”
Following her tirade on President Trump’s White House renovations, Maddow went on to call on her viewers to join anti-Trump protests like the No Kings ones, which featured pro-Hamas and Antifa propaganda and images
Another notable deranged MSNBC anchor moment that occurred during Roberts’ tenure as Comcast CEO happened during the 2024 election, shortly after President Trump was nearly assassinated in Butler, Pennsylvania. On July 16, Michael Steele appeared on MSNBC during the Republican National Convention and attempted to spread the conspiracy theory that President Trump was not struck by a bullet in Butler, Pennsylvania, saying: “Was it caused by a bullet as opposed to, as some reports from those on the scene, other reporters, saying that it was actually shards of glass from the teleprompter itself, not the bullet? So there are a lot of questions around that ear. And yet there’s been no response to that, instead just showing the image of the man coming into the hall with the wounded ear. So that’s the politics.”
Steele then reiterated his remarks in an X post on July 16, reading: “What about reports that it may not have been a bullet which wounded him but glass from the shattered teleprompter? If I missed such reports from his campaign or the hospital, please post. Thank you.”
Steele is still a prominent part of the MSNBC network today.
It is also important to note that another potential buyer of Warner Bros is Netflix. Currently, Barack Hussein Obama has a large stake in Netflix via his founding of Higher Ground Media, which has a continuing, growing relationship with Netflix. Netflix states on its website that it is proud to be working with Michelle and Barack Obama. With this in mind, just imagine CNN under the control of the Obamas, it would be a fake news dumpster full of Trump hate and likely shows starring Barack Obama and Michelle Obama themselves.
As we assess the current situation, the most logical buyer for Warner Bros. is CBS Paramount. President Trump recently praised its leadership. This stands in stark contrast to Trump’s harsh criticism of Comcast CEO Brian Roberts, whom he called “a disgrace to the integrity of Broadcasting!!!” Clearly, the Obama-linked Netflix cannot be trusted to buy Warner bros either. To combat fake news bias, the Trump administration must do everything in its power to prevent America’s leading promoters of left-wing propaganda from acquiring more outlets to spread their message of communism and anti-Trump conspiracy theories at the expense of our country.
