Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a radical leftist with ties to transgender and antifascist activism, congressional Democrats spent the following week failing to denounce political violence and left wing chaos groups like Antifa. Congressional Democrats’ deranged behavior from this past was led by Rep. Ilhan Omar’s refusal to apologize for resharing a video labeling Kirk a “terrorist” shortly after his assassination. Not a single Democrat condemned the comments, they were unified in opposition to a censure resolution against her, and Rashida Tlaib’s laughter following Loomer Unleashed’s questions about Antifa being designated a terrorist network underscored the left’s carelessness toward the trend of left-wing violence.
Omar’s Latest Embracement of Political Violence
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) refused to apologize when confronted on Tuesday for resharing a video that accused the assassinated Charlie Kirk of being a terrorist. During the encounter, Omar fled into her office without responding. Omar’s inflammatory and inciting posts following Kirk’s assassination led Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) to introduce a censure resolution, which aimed to reprimand Omar and remove her from committees. The resolution failed on Wednesday in a 214-213 vote, with every House Democrat voting against it and some Republicans seen as MAGA like Cory Mills joined them.
House Democrat Whip Katherine Clark posted on X that the censure effort represented “pure hate, racism, and xenophobia,” while affirming House Democrats’ solidarity with Omar. Radical Freshman Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.), the first biological male in congress to believe he is a woman, also evaded questions about whether party leadership should censure Omar. Loomer Unleashed’s confrontation with McBride happened just hours after it was announced that Kirk’s assassin was in contact with his transgender significant other following his murderous actions.
President Donald Trump has also intensified his criticisms of Omar, posting to Truth on Thursday, describing her as “scum” and questioning her authority to influence American policy. Trump stated, “Ilhan Omar’s Country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central Government control, persistent Poverty, Hunger, Resurgent Terrorism, Piracy, decades of Civil War, Corruption, and pervasive Violence,” adding that “70 percent of the population lives in extreme Poverty, and widespread Food Insecurity. Somalia is consistently ranked among the World’s Most Corrupt Countries, including Bribery, Embezzlement and a Dysfunctional Government.” He concluded, “All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America! P.S. Wasn’t she the one that married her brother in order to gain Citizenship??? What SCUM we have in our Country, telling us what to do, and how to do it.” In separate remarks, Trump called for Omar’s impeachment, saying, “I think she’s terrible. I think she should be impeached,” and emphasized, “They come from a place with nothing. Nothing. Nothing. And then they tell us how to run our country.”
Omar’s record with Loomer Unleashed is a series of unfortunate events for the representative who’s repeatedly failed to condemn symbols of political violence, such as the Hamas flag, an emblem of the U.S.designated terrorist organization, flown outside the U.S. Capitol during anti-Trump protests in April of 2025. She dismissed questions coming from these concerns with, “I condemn the smugness on your face.” Similarly, in March of 2025, outside the White House, Omar responded to inquiries about the flag by feigning ignorance saying, “What are you talking about?… This is ridiculous.”

On Wednesday, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) laughed when questioned about the potential of Antifa being framed as a terrorist organization because of their violent activities. During the questioning, Loomer Unleashed’s interaction with Tlaib came to a halt when Code Pink Leader Medea Benjamin came to the congresswoman’s rescue to help her evade accountability. Recently, Code Pink screamed at President Trump, calling him Hitler in a viral moment at a Washington D.C. restaurant.
Tlaib has a history of failing to simply condemn political violence, including refusing to address the presence of the Hamas flag during the March 2025 anti-Trump protest outside the White House,. There protesters chanted in support of the intifada and displayed pro-Hamas imagery throughout the questionable event atmosphere.

The ties Democrats have to Antifa is as deep as family for some members of elected office. House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark’s son, Riley Dowell, who identifies as transgender, was arrested in 2023 for assaulting police during an Antifa riot in Boston, where he spray-painted anti-police graffiti. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Hillary Clinton’s 2016 running mate, has a son, Woody, also notably affiliated with Antifa. Even Ilhan Omar’s daughter has been arrested in connection with Palestinian and Antifa linked protests.
House Democrats’ Vote Against Denouncing Political Violence
Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), and LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) were among 58 House Democrats who voted against a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk and denouncing political violence. These individuals have built quite a concerning record of embracing political turmoil or acting on it themselves. Rep. Crockett physically attacked Loomer Unleashed Reporter Charles Downs and Rep. McIver refused to apologize after assaulting ICE agents during a protest in Newark prior to May. It is also important to note that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries defended McIver, warning, “DHS better not touch our members. If they do, they’ll find out.”
