Left, Right Agree on Trump’s Foreign Policy. They’re Wrong

This is the question posed in a buzzy new Compact magazine essay by Christian Parenti, a Marxist economist at John Jay College, City University of New York – one he answered in the affirmative. While Parenti concedes that Trump “ordered a few missile and drone strikes here and there,” he asserts that Trump’s more important policies, like orders to withdraw troops from Germany and South Korea, showed that the former president “has done more to restrain the US imperium than any politician in 75 years.”
