In another jaw dropping example of twisted priorities amid a brutal government shutdown, Senate Democrats wasted time during the pivotal week of negotiations launching vicious attacks on journalist Laura Loomer’s First Amendment rights instead of sitting down with Senate Republicans to hammer out a deal that gets paychecks flowing again.
On October 16, Connecticut Democrat Senator Chris Murphy fired off a menacing letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, demanding she cough up the identity of Laura Loomer’s DHS source after Loomer dropped bombshell exclusive photos that laid bare the savage assault on ICE agents by rabid open borders rioters in Chicago on October 4. In a truly unhinged twist, Murphy even questioned whether the bloody attack ever took place and ordered the “misleading accurate facts” be erased from existence.
Senator Murphy’s crusade against Loomer reeks of a deeper rot aimed squarely at ICE and anyone daring to champion secure borders. Back in July of this year, a mere weeks after violent protests erupted in Los Angeles, and right before daily ambushes on ICE agents began in Chicago, Murphy attacked ICE agents as “unsavory” in The Bulwark, adding, “There are going to be some pretty unsavory people who get hired, and the masks allow them to get away with a level of depravity that none of us should accept.”
Senator Murphy’s war on ICE persisted. On October 7th, he posted a photo of an ICE agent lawfully defending himself and unleashed an eyebrow raising rant: “This is out of hand. These agents are there to cause trouble and violence, not to keep people safe. These are the scenes that play out in war torn, destitute countries not America.” This is yet another classic example of Chris Murphy’s diabolical hypocrisy: paint the heroes as villains while criminal illegal migrants flood our communities.
In June, as Los Angeles burned following violent protests of pro-open border mobs, Murphy took to the streets of D.C. during America’s Military Parade to stoke the chaos: “Don’t listen to him (Trump). What he’s (Trump) threatening is illegal, unconstitutional, and un-American. It’s a classic authoritarian tactic and it’s up to us if we let him silence us.”
Senate Democrats like Chris Murphy and Chuck Schumer are at it again, choosing to undermine our country and protect open borders by attacking a journalist’s First Amendment rights in the middle of a government shutdown. Given the Senate Democrats’ long track record of pushing open borders and their history of choosing illegal aliens over their own American constituents, nobody should be shocked by this depraved stunt.
