12 Cities Set Homicide Records in 2021; All Led By Democrat Mayors

An ABC News report revealed 12 cities have set record homicide numbers in 2021. The tragic news offers one additional insight to the close observer, as all 12 cities are run by Democrat mayors.

The 12 cities noted in the report included Portland, Oregon; St. Paul, Minnesota; Indianapolis, Indiana; Toledo, Ohio; Rochester, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Columbus, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Austin, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Philadelphia, for example, has recorded more homicides than the nation’s two largest cities, New York and Los Angeles, with 521 as of Dec. 6.

But none of the 12 cities topped Chicago, currently at 777 homicides reported. Though it’s not a record for the city, it far surpasses any other city in the nation. Chicago has been led by Democrats since 1927, including its current mayor, Lori Lightfoot, who also happens to be a defund the police advocate.

The lopsided statistics show violent crime is leading in leftist cities, and could be the downfall for Democrats in coming elections. Between the radical bail reform efforts and defund the police push from progressives in the party, it’s no wonder law-abiding Americans are ready to support anything but another leader soft on crime.

Even in liberal New York City, voters overwhelmingly voted for the Democrat candidate who promised to be tough on crime, former police leader Eric Adamas. That’s no accident, as crime has surged in the Big Apple under current Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Colorado Republican Rep. Ken Buck noted Democrat weakness on crime is not only hurting the party, but also the American people, in comments following the Waukesha parade attack that killed six people in Wisconsin.

“Democrats are soft on crime and it is hurting the American people,” Buck tweeted.

He’s right. When Democrat-led cities refuse to put a stop to crime, it doesn’t just hurt Democrats. It hurts us all. We need conservatives to vote for those who will back the blue, support local law enforcement and declare their city will no longer put up with crime and violence.

This shouldn’t even need to be said, but unfortunately an entire party in our two-party system can’t seem to support even basic laws. Biden’s latest nominee for judgeship, Rachael Rollins, is known for the long list of crimes she refuses to prosecute.

But leaders don’t get to pick which crimes they want to prosecute and which ones they don’t. We have laws that have consequences. If they are not enforced, they aren’t much of a law.

The biggest example right now is at our southern border. We’re on track for two million illegal immigrants entering this year. Why? Because the Biden administration won’t enforce immigration laws. The administration has even redefined the language. People are no longer illegal immigrants. They’re undocumented migrants.

But there’s a big difference between traveler and lawbreaker. Until the left figures that out, we’re going to continue to see a whole lot more crime unless conservatives take more power in public office.
